The Main Event on Wanna Parlay had 3,660 entries this week. @SmoothCRIMinal finished 3rd. They paid $4 to get in and won $1,000, a 250x return, with a 7-leg parlay that mixed NFL Sunday with NBA preseason. Two road underdogs won outright, and the final NFL leg needed overtime on Sunday Night Football.
Meet the Player
@SmoothCRIMinal, repping Georgia, who watched football all afternoon and still had a read on the night's basketball. Out of 3,660 entries in the biggest contest of the week, only two people did better.
The Parlay: 7 Legs, NFL and NBA
Leg 1: Broncos Moneyline at Chargers
The 4:05 PM ET kickoff opened the card. Denver went into Los Angeles and won 23-17, leaving the Chargers still looking for their first win of the season.
Leg 1: ✅
Legs 2 and 3: 49ers Moneyline and Brock Purdy Under 228.5 Passing Yards
This is the smartest pairing on the card. @SmoothCRIMinal took San Francisco as an underdog in Seattle, then took Brock Purdy to stay under his passing yardage. That's a read on how the 49ers would win, not just whether they would.
San Francisco won 32-29, and Purdy stayed under 228.5. Two legs from one game.
Legs 2 and 3: ✅ ✅
Leg 4: Tyler Herro Over 17.5 Points
Tyler Herro is in his first preseason with the Bucks. @SmoothCRIMinal took the over on 17.5 points against Charlotte, and Herro cleared it.
Leg 4: ✅
Leg 5: Ravens Moneyline at Falcons
The last NFL leg was another road underdog, Baltimore at Atlanta on Sunday Night Football. It went to overtime. The Ravens won 30-23, and @SmoothCRIMinal's parlay was still alive heading into the late NBA games.
Leg 5: ✅
Legs 6 and 7: Nuggets Moneyline and Nikola Jokic Over 11.5 Points
The parlay closed in Denver with the Nuggets hosting the Bulls. @SmoothCRIMinal took Denver to win and Jokic over 11.5 points. Preseason minutes can be unpredictable, which is why the line was so low for a three-time MVP. Jokic cleared it, the Nuggets won, and @SmoothCRIMinal locked in 3rd place.
Legs 6 and 7: ✅ ✅
Why This Parlay Worked
Two things stand out. First, @SmoothCRIMinal trusted two road underdogs, the 49ers in Seattle and the Ravens in Atlanta, and both won outright. In a contest with 3,660 entries, getting those two right is what separates a podium finish from the middle of the leaderboard.
Second, the picks fit together. The 49ers moneyline and Purdy's under tell the same story: a close game that San Francisco wins without a huge passing day. The Nuggets moneyline and Jokic's points tell the same story too.
That's only possible because of the pick types Wanna Parlay offers. Three of these seven legs were moneylines, which player-prop-only DFS apps don't offer. On Wanna, you can mix NFL moneylines, NFL player props and NBA picks in one parlay.
These games are over, so don't copy these picks. Copy the approach instead: back an underdog you believe in, then pick a player prop that matches how you think the game plays out.
And on Wanna Parlay, everything is public. @SmoothCRIMinal's picks are on their profile for anyone to see. If someone's on a heater, go to their profile, see what they're picking, and try to ride the hot streak.
What Is the Main Event?
The Main Event is the biggest contest on Wanna Parlay. It runs every week, it draws the largest field on the app, and it has the deepest prize pool. This week it had 3,660 entries.
It works like every Wanna contest: it's a leaderboard, not a head-to-head matchup. Everyone builds their own parlay from any sports on the board, the entries are ranked against each other, and the top of the leaderboard gets paid. That's why a $4 entry can finish 3rd out of thousands. You don't need the biggest entry. You need one of the best parlays.
@SmoothCRIMinal didn't need ten legs or long odds to get there. They needed seven picks that all hit, including two road underdogs that most of the field avoided.
